Pokemon has always skimmed around the notion of prehistoric creatures. This museum exhibit feels like a perfect setting for a future game taking inspiration from fossil fighters

Maybe we could return to a region like Unova, but all the new Pokemon are fossil pokemon as we work for an expedition team.

thats so cool, I can only imagine getting to experience this irl

also Coelacanths were thought to be extinct until they were discovered in 1938 and there was even an anime episode showing the same thing with Relicanth

I've always wanted a Rock/Ghost type Pokémon to be added, and my idea for one is a fossil Pokémon that had something go wrong halfway through the restoration process and it only got partially revived. I thought it should look like a haunted dinosaur skeleton, like the t-rex from "Night at the Museum", but made to look more like a Pokémon.

You know it's kind of unfair that Japan always gets the cool Pokemon stuff. Still it was nice to see a fusion of Jurassic Park/Dinosaurs and Pokemon. Two of my favourite franchises.

I was so happy when they revealed Tyrunt and Tyrantrum before XY so thank you for letting me see this

Oh man, that virtual tour was so good. I can only imagine the feeling seeing this in real life.

Plus, seeing real life creatures in the Pokémon art style is something that needs to happen more often.

I guess the man running the fossil restoration center in generation 7 had his wish come true.

4:05 It would've been cool if they included an Aerodactyl skeleton as a reference to the one in the Pewter Museum. They already have a Kabutops skeleton, so it's a little weird that Aerodactyl didn't get one.

This digital tour of the Pokemon Museum is amazing. Is this still around? I feel like we as fans should make a pilgrimage to this site to check it out

Went around it virtually with a friend. It was great. Thank you for telling us about it.

Imma take the time and say I love that promo art! The split between Team Fossil Pokemon and Team IRL Dinosaur just looks so cool to me

Since omastar’s dex entry says it can’t eat I theorized it had a similar life cycle to many modern and ancient real life invertebrates. Where the juvenile form (which for this pokemon would be omynite) feed as much as they can and the adult form can’t eat and is solely focused on finding a mate before there body runs out of nutrients consumed as juveniles.

Anyone remember that scrapped Pokemon movie idea where an actual T-Rex skeleton came to life and almost destroyed the world?

Wonder if Gator made a video on that.

Something interesting is in the pokemon timeline it’s hinted at that real life prehistoric animals existed along side ancient pokemon.

Got to visit the place because it's like a few minutes away from my house lol. Very cool sculptures and interesting lore on the pokemon that reflect on their real inspirations. It was a quick and fun way for people to learn about dinosaurs and would have definitely recommended it to anyone who coulve gone lol
