Hetfield was untouchable during his cowardly lion phase.

James' posture is so iconic! That is what little boys imitate in their little rooms and makes them feel like a rockstar. Love it

I first heard Metallica when I saw One on MTV when I was like 7. I was like "these are the coolest dude's on the planet. That's what I wanna do" Now I'm 40 and I play in one of the biggest Metallica tributes in the state. Every time we play One, my little 7 year old self is up there with me like "DUDE!! WE DID IT!!"

Watching Justin stan Metallica is the best thing I’ve seen in ages. The joy, the adoration, the respect. Delivered with Justin’s love of music and his passion for performing. Best “episode” yet.

Makes me feel better about myself knowing that even Justin doesn't pay for YouTube premium

Lars is more than a drummer, he has an ear for placement and accentuation not just on drums but all instruments and the song as a whole. His offbeat crash is iconic, his fills don't follow metal cliches, makes very good use of the snare on odd beats during a lot of his fills...he's technically not the best but he is iconic and his drum tracks are memorable.

Whether you’re a drummer, singer, harpist or don’t even play an instrument I don’t think possible not to play along with Lars’ fill. Very rare to see a drum fill become part of the main hook of a song. Awesome

Heaviest tones ever created for Metallica. Bob Rock put this right up with Back in Black, Sonic Temple and Girls girls girls. People can talk smack on it all day but its one of the BEST Productions in Heavy Rock/ Metal ever.

One of my fondest memories is walking with my mom during a snow-day to get a few things at the store and returning with a Ride The Lightning cassette.

What makes Metallica great is their songs. They work so hard on their songs and it shows. James and Lars are just simply great songwriters. Simple as that. They are not afraid to experiment and fail.

Ride the Lightning is my favourite Metallica album. That album delivered loads of great tunes, one after another.

I remember James Hetfeild, handing out Kill em' All records, at a small Club in CT.
Those were the days.

The best metal band ever. They're heavy, melodic, aggressive, great songwriters and superb live. It's hard to argue that there's ever been a better rhythm player than Hetfield and Hammett's lead works complements it so well.

Kudos to Bob Rock for his excellent production work on The Black Album as well.

It’s worth checking out the demo at the original tempo before Bob Rock suggested slowing it down. Amazing how much difference that makes

When Black came out I was 12. This album turned me on to metal because l then bought all the previous and became a metal head 4 life.

I'm a drummer ... and as much as sometimes Lars may sound "sloppy", he has an unique signature... and he has actually inspired a lot of people.
I remember when I was learning to play in the 90s, I actually really struggled to grasp where his crashes were landing...

These are the best breakdowns. Just being yourself throughout the video. Humor + education. It’s what makes this channel special.

I like how this time Justin just literally jams out and has fun listening to what seems to be one of his favorite Metallica tunes. There's no debate or counterpoint just, "hey I really like Metallica, and this song in particular squiggles my jimmies, plus kung fu." He is one of the few people I can watch just have fun listening to music. You can tell he's a true musician who loves music in general and wants to share that love!
