After the United States Department of State restricted Americans to travel to Cuba, US chess champion Bobby Fischer competed by teletype in a tournament that was held in Havana! In this video I am analyzing his famous game vs former World Chess Champion Vasily Smyslov where he demonstrated brilliant endgame skills!

Mate in 4: 1.Qf5+ g6 2.Qf6 ... Idea: 3.Qg7+ followed by knight f6++, black is helpless. If black plays 2. ... g6 x Knight h5 then Qh6:++

Suren Sir, your commentary on 4:44 was a total mistake. The Future World Champion Spassky wasn't playing the game. It was the Former World Champion Smyslov playing on the black side Nd7

Very mediocre performance by both GMs. As you point out Suren, besides sequential oversights of PQN4, several other weak moves were chosen.

Smyslov commits the final transgression, I think, by throwing in the towel with equal material and plenty of maneuvering room on the board.
