Coming from another mechanic I feel that you did a wonderful job continuing on with this series on A/C system and there basic function and diagnosis. You are a good teacher and do a fine job at explaining what you are doing in each step. Thanks for sharing you knowledge and taking the time to make videos. I also shot u a PM when you get a chance. Keep up the good work!

I have just watched three or four of these videos, and I now feel more than up for the challenge of repairing my own AC on three of my vehicles. You have probably saved me $2, 000 in repair costs. One estimate was $1500 JUST for one van! Thanks again! Highly recommended!

Clearly, You have a teaching gift! Thank you. I have always feared to work on the AC system. You have made it comprehensible! Excellent. Those who put negative feedback are small minded and ignorant! Ignore them! Great job, highly recommend all your videos!

Ok. Here's my deal. Hope you can suggest some things, shed some light or/and tell me what to check next? Recovered system's freon with MY recovery machine, refilled w R134a from MY tank(w my scales, so was dead on weight accurate) and it worked for 2 summers now. This year, air is not getting cold, again! Sux! Summers a comin!
Here's a little info;
Initial Diagnostics test readings: Low side- 45psi (+ or - 2 to 4 psi as fan cuts on and off)
High Side- 160-175psi (again, + or -)
Temps: High side line- Compressor to condenser-140-160f
High side line- Condenser to receiver dryer- 125-135f
System uses exp. valve, not orifice tube
It's the crappy 2000 sebring conv JXi, 2.5L
Appreciate your videos! Love to see what you think/things you would do! Thx!

You turned a relatively complicated subject into an easy to understand video. Good job and thank you!

Thanks so much for your clear explanations and showing us the real parts, tubes, valves etc. You're definitely worth following so I can come back and watch more videos. One suggestion I might make is to actually touch or grab the part you're pointing out since pointing is less precise and we can't always tell what you're pointing at. Thanks!!!

Thanks for this great tutorial and all you other videos. What do you think is the problem in the AC system when the following symptom occurs?
* When AC compressor clutch is not engaged, the LP is at 45 PSIG and the HP is 0 PSIG, and when the AC compressor clutch is engaged both the LP and HP are at 0 PSIG. Thank you so much for your help.

Most chain parts stores have a "loan-a-tool" program where you can put a deposit down for the (gauges, vacuum pump) tool. I don't know if you touched on cars older than 95 came with R-12 which is becoming hard to find. If the AC system is opened for any reason, it MUST be vacuumed down to check for leaks and to remove all moisture from the system or you'll have problems down the line. Great video by the way.

Please note that the infrared temp gadgets capture temperature from a much broader area than the laser point. It gets broader as the distance from the target increases. Laser point is just there to show a general direction. I have seen many people making the same mistake.

Very nicely explained! You just made a complicated thing uncomplicated!!! My Lincoln Towncar had the engaging/disengaging syndrome right now and i tried to add some Freon to it using one of those cans with a gauge in it but it keeps going all the way to touch the red area and coming back to the empty area so it wasn’t too helpful. While filling it up, the gas stopped going in and started leaking from the hose attached to the can. I also noticed that there was compressor oil on both the low and the high pressure connectors. If there’s a shortcut, please, don’t be shy! Lol.
I noticed my ac want cooling enough a couple weeks ago but won’t go to a shop because they are very Disonest down here in Florida so I’m trying to figure it out what’s going on.
Thank so much for your kindness and wish you all the best!

Ps. Infrared thermometer measures temperature in cone shape. Farther you get bigger circle gets. Laser dot just for reference only. But thanks for info it worth a lot.
