Welcome to The Ancient World series! This series is meant to summarize broad topics in history and balances political history and events, with social/daily life, and culture. If you've watched our History of the World documentary, this series is a perfect next step. The videos are standalone, but presented in a chronological fashion. The series will be divided into 5 videos about the Ancient Period, which we call Phase 1. Upcoming videos in the current Phase will be placed at the end of these videos. Once these 5 videos are completed, we will move onto Phase 2, but this project will be considered completed, and compiled into ONE video containing all 5 parts.

A slight correction, The founder of the Han Dynasty (Liu Bang 刘邦; Gaozu Emperor 高祖) actually choose Daoism or inaction(黄老之学，道家) as prominent philosophy instead of Confucianism. His son Wei Emperor (汉文帝) and Jing Emerpor inherited Daoism and then started a prosperous period (文景之治) in economic.
Until Liu Bang's grandson the Wu Emperor finally choose Confucianism to establish a more solid reign and centralization society. At that time, Confucianism finally become the national philosophy.
Anyway, thank you covered Chinese history with effort and accuracy.

I am from Zhongshan Daiwan village was born there back in 1929 went to school at age 14 then dad sent me to San Francisco he was American citizen so I'm citizen's son at an early age I was interested in Ancient Chinese Culture then at age 20 was drafted to fight Northern Korean invasion of the South suddenly it's 2023 .

I am Buddhist, the school I practise is Pure Land Buddhism. My answer to which dynasty in China history I like is absolutely the "Tang" Dynasty. The reason is because this was the gold time or dynasty when the Pure Land Buddhism school flourished in China.

there are two different ages in the whole chinese hisrory.
one is the feudal era, and the other the era of imperial rule.
during the period of yin/shang 殷商 and zhou 周, there had occurred very few uprisings of the commoners.
on the contrary, after the foundation of qin dynasty 秦, numerous revolts had successively broken out.
thus, autocracy by only emperor has provided not stability, but endless tumults in its society.
in a word, "imperial rule" has to be the source of all evil as a whole.
