I’m a 40 year old dad of a daughter that I love very much. I grew up on punk rock and skateboarding. I will say that I weep every time I watch this. This song, to me, is about being 20-21 years old, broke, living in an awful apartment, hanging out with your friends, sometimes a little too hard, barely surviving, and trying to figure out how you are going to eat the next day. It’s a beautiful full circle to know that your little one is okay and sleeping soundly upstairs - and that you survived all that you’ve been through so that she wouldn’t have to. That’s what I think resonates so very deeply in this cover. Thank you for making this. It is touching. The poignancy of the lyrics shine through so clearly. Cheers!
