As a 4th grade teacher it is my job to teach, nurture and care for my students. Not carry a gun to protect my students. I have to have a license to teach for crying out loud, and the way I teach is HEAVILY regulated.

It amazes me how they worked so hard to protect cell clusters that are not even formed into babies yet but so little to protect walking talking school aged children in a place that is supposed to be safe for them to be.

When asked a simple question about what to do about gun law reform, Cruz accused the interviewer of politicising the topic, and then started to rant about democrats. Who politicised what?

If anything is to be done about this issue, we need to solve our Republican Problem. Vote out every one of them, everywhere.

Any "teacher" who is actually stoked to carry a gun to a grade school to play "hero"... IS A HUGE RED FLAG, and should be watched just as much as this shooter should have been. Just saying. In my high school, back in the early 90s, we had two seperate teachers, for two seperate incidents, and two seperate investigations, because both teachers decided to strike the students out of anger... now, what would they have done if they were armed? Just saying. I would NEVER be stupid enough to send my kids to a school with "armed teachers"... But Republicans are.

Seeing your anger, Brian, and the anger of so many in media and in my friends gives me hope that this time we might be able to make a difference if we hold onto that anger and turn it into action. I think the idiotic Republican response to this tragedy has begun to get the public to see how self-serving they are.

My husband is a history teacher, if I thought about everything going against him nowadays I'd never make it through my day. He's so against teachers being armed, he's license to carry and own guns. It's not the solution! He and many of his colleagues are solid on resigning if it ever comes to being mandatory. America wake up!
