Midland M20 UK CE MultiNorm CB radio (mobile) - On The Air test

Today's brand new radio is the Midland M20 & this is our standard 6-mile 'difficult terrain for radio' on the air test. This radio does a full 4W outut which not many new sets manage. I did have some misgivings over rx sensitivity with 1.2uV = 20dB SINAD, slightly inferior to a 38 year old Cybernet radio!

Anyway the one-the-air test sounded fine.

Who would have thought that 35 years later I would be watching you repair radios again (In the radio shop on Woodborough rd) I still have my old Cbs but mainly use 446 if I need to communicate over the air but it isn't the same.

Bought one recently, like it.
Key factor was three main rotary controls and no " faff " I ain't gonna use.
Like the scan feature.
Yep, the volume/squelch control switcheroo was a tad disorienting at first but I've been away from CB for so long, will soon get used to it.

Neato pice of kit - recommended.

Hi, what about the digital squelch? I mean, how does it work? 73

Well that worked surprisingly well. The received signal seemed pretty stable. Audio was nice and loud on the Harrier but it looks like you have to clean the channel change switches now. Regards Graham

Am old fashioned and like the old style CB radios. These new ones done impress me much. But will say the audio is clear.

Firstly, I do not normally comment on YouTube channels but I left a comment on another one of your videos last week and just to repeat my thanks for your reply.
I have been watching your FM tests and many of the radios are noisy, since AM / SSB are now legal, would you when testing radios switch to AM even if it is only at the last mobile test location. No need for SSB as those radios fall into a different area to what you're channel is famous for. Thank you for all your work on this channel and look forward to the next radio.
