A song cycle for soprano, cello, alto saxophone and piano in three movements. Composed by Mojan Alaiyeh
I- Our Sun: "Our sun is hung from the gallows, Don't speak of the dawn and sunlight in this land..."

II- Fragments of a Memory (soprano solo):
"There is a bit of darkness and silence that has not absorbed me yet.
I will fall asleep afterwards.
You sing me a lullaby.
I look you in the eyes.
You assume I can recognize you, but I can barely see you from the shadows..."

III- Migration of Violets
"In winter’s last days in March,
the migration of nomadic violets
is lovely.

On bright middays in March
when they move the violets from cold shadows,
into spring’s satin scent,
in small wooden boxes,
with roots and soil
—their moveable homeland—
to the side of the street:

A stream of thousand murmurs
boils within me:

I only wish
I only wish that one day
man could carry his country with him
like the violets
(in boxes of soil)
wherever he pleased,
in bright rain,
in pure sunlight..."

Soprano: Anastasia Terranova
Cello: Renee Timmer
Saxophone: Adam Claussen
Piano: Sepehr Keyhani

Premiered at Grachtenfestival 2023 - Felix Meritis - Amsterdam
