Datsun - EVOLUTION

The brand name Datsun was originally introduced as Datson in 1931 by the DAT Motorcar Company for a new passenger car model. This was smaller than the models in the DAT 41 passenger car series, so the name referred to the son of DAT. However, after just one year, the last syllable of the name was changed to "sun", as son means "loss" in Japanese and the sun is also part of the Japanese flag. This is how the name Datsun came about.
