usually you want to buffer the up behemoths during other moves. but you can do them in neutral by whiffing 5P and doing the input there or you can do these inputs out of backdash or right after forward dashing but its hard.

zangief players been training their whole lives for this

Inputting after 5P really helps. Even if it gets blocked, you're +3. You can also bait with this, if you just throw out 5P spaced out, they'll expect a Behemoth Typhoon

This is recent tech, but for BTs starting with up, I've seen Gobou using the stop animation of a run to hide the initial up.

FD has a frame or two that will ignore a jump input if you're fast enough, but obviously this costs you a smidgen of meter to do, and doesn't really help on the BT's that start with up.

Doesn't the starter guide video show the dude doing the Typhoons that start with up while grounded?

I've managed to get 47896HS grounded on pad, but I'm not consistent enough at it. When doing the input I try to prioritize hitting 7 and 9 and hitting HS when I reach around 9, then input forward. Speed is definitely a factor when doing the typhons that have upward inputs. In the case of 47896HS I'll get 3 in a row and then never get it again. Sometimes I'll do it twice and both inputs look identical and one will come out grounded and the other one won't.

For the one with the jump in the middle I just press heavy slash sooner and I don't jump. It gets easier with practice.

Great explanation! I was tired of randomly jumping between inputs, turns out I should stop doing BT from neutral all the time.

This was helpful as a stick player too. Thanks. I had someone tell me "you can do giefs 720 super before jump frames kick in" oh yeah cause thats soon easy to do raw lol you need to hide the inputs like said for GoldDick too.

Is it a known fact that you can use dash to buffer inputs? That's how I do it.

From what I've read about the behemoth typhoons that start up, you just need to do an half circle (either clockwise or anti clockwise depending on the move) in any direction (so like 426 or 624 work) and then end with what would be the last direction of the behemoth typhoon you'd like to do (like 2 if you start up, or 6 if you start from behind and have a jump input in the middle)

You can get the ones that start with 8 without jumping if you input the entire move within the 5 frames of pre jump iirc. It’s really hard to do though.

From my testing, it is possible to do BTs starting with up without jumping raw. You need to be quick and might only be practical on hitbox tho.
