at the time of production, the Falcon GT-HO Phase 3 was the fastest four door sedan on the planet. fastest 0 - 100 kph, fastest 1/4 mile and highest top speed.

what abt the holy grail XR8 Sprint with 483kw ( 647hp ) and 753nm ( 555lb ft) of torque, and what abt the over-boost feature on both the F6 and the R spec which gave it a boost in performance. and also the Ford TS50 with its 250KW ( 335hp ) 5.6L stroker Windsor V8 was technically the most powerful production Windsor V8 Motor, other than the 351 Cleveland which " claimed to have 300 Hp" but had more....

Xr gt was not 15.8 on the quarter it was lucky to get a high 16 with a hurricane behind it. The phase 1 out accelerated the phase 3 until about 90 mph it had the best throttle response of all the muscle cars in australia. Similar to the 6 cylinder charger that was a beast. All aussie muscle cars are beautiful. The newer cars are not muscle cars they are beyond boring

Pretty sure the E49 as tested pulled 14.1 to the Ton . And put Moffet to shame in New Zealand 🇳🇿 👍🏻🇦🇺✌️but I still like the GT in my book are the XW GTHO in Mustard colour and bone trim next it’s the XA GT Coupe in mustard also that a nice Ford . My pick Mopar Ford AMC Javelins then the first 3 models of Monaro but not there 6 or 253 or 308. 327 350 only 🙀. Hate lap top muscle car .

The XY GTHO is and was an overrated pile of shit. A parts bin special laughingly called AUSTRALIAN. Virtually ALL of it was American. Shaker AMERICAN 351 AMERICAN gearboxes AMERICAN diff AMERICAN suspension AMERICAN dating back to the 50s and 60s and the list goes on and on. The E49 charger was quicker down the quarter mile and the ultimate embarrassment was Peter Brock driving 6 hours in the rain at Bathurst in a 202 six cylinder flogging every beloved GT and rubbing Moffats nose in shit. The ultimate AUSTRALIAN muscle car was the A9X Torana. Superb handling great brakes and as a race car NOTHING was comparable. The results are there forever. 78 destroyed all opposition at Bathurst 79 DECIMATED everything in its sight. Peter Brock Fastest in Friday practice Saturday fastest in the hardies heroes shootout Sunday led from start to finish winning by 6 laps and breaking the lap record on the LAST LAP. A lap so good it wasn’t equaled until 1983 by Alan grice. All hail the KING and the A9X TORANA AUSTRALIAN MADE .
