I have been a Cubase user since the late 90's, never switched or tried to use anything else. I am on Cubase 11 Pro now and might upgrade to 14 soon!

Cubase Is my favorite DAW of all time. I came in at Cubase SX... Some friends in Chicago put me on to it. All I about up until then was Pro Tools and even though they had a full blown Pro Tools HD system in their big studio, they showed me how Cubase/Nuendo was better. Never seen the older versions of Cubase until today. It's amazing how it's evolved.

I started my home recording adventure with Cubase 8 in 2016. It was bundled with a starter pack from Focusrite, and was recommended to me by a friend of mine. It served me well for a few years, until I bought a new laptop, and decided to upgrade to Cubase 10 on that one. This is my current DAW. I have recently tried Reaper for some minor work that Cubase Elements couldn't handle. But I found Reaper to be hard to understand. I'm sticking with Cubase as my main workstation for home recording.

First Cubase VST is a 3.0 for MacIntosh in 1996.
I still have a Cubase Score 2.0r6 on Atari 1040STF 4Mo with red dongle, Cubase 3.0 VST on MacIntosh with floppy dongle and Cubase Pro 12 on PC without dongle, off course! ⌨🖱

My favorite versions are Cubase 2.0 on Atari, it's the very first DAW I started making music with so, it still has a special in my heart but also, Cubase SX 3, Cubase 5.1 and more recently, Cubase 10 then 12.

I loved picking up the UK mag Computer Music and playing the cd that contained music created by young aspiring creators.
Cost me 20 bucks that mag in Oz.

Do you remember what version of Steinberg Cubase had the bundle and came with a sound card in the box. I think it was back in 1999/2000? Nobody seems to remember this, but me...and I stayed super elevated in those garage studio days. Your insights are very appreciated.

I started with SX3, which didn't even allow to change order of the inserts (!), 4 was great revolution in this sense, also UI became much nicer + I loved the Halion One which had Motif like sounds, version 5 was also great as it introduced the integrated Celemony Melodyne. Then I had ver 6, currently I'm on version 10.5. I don't really see any real revolution since version 5 except in the UI.
