Bag Review: Chrome Mini Kadet Great EDC Sling (I Could Fit 3 Cameras Inside)

I'm a huge fan of sling bags for Every Day Carry. They're compact, unobtrusive, yet easily accessible when needed. Chrome Industries has been releasing some awesome slings recently and they asked if I wanted to check out their new Mini Kadet. I've been using it for a couple of weeks and I'm really enjoying how small it is. For me, the bigger the bag, the more likely I'm going to pack it out and end up carrying too much gear. The Mini Kadet is just big enough to carry my essentials without getting carried away. For this video I completely filled the sling bag just to show you how much I could pack in. Overall it's a great EDC bag, perfect for short trips, running errands, even as a small essentials carry-on for flights.

Thanks for your review Take I watched it prior to taking the plunge. One point on camera fit, at 5.00 you say any small mirrorless with a pancake type lens will fit. I'm a Fuji user and you can actually easily fit the X-E series cameras with longer lenses if you turn the camera width ways so the lens is utilising the length of the sling, it's perfect actually and what I bought it for.

I just got the Kadet Mini, the Kadet and the original Niko sling on a sale primarily for photography EDC, and the standout feature apart from the quality of the materials is the belt/buckle system. It is so easy, comfortable and secure and beats all of the other multitude of bags I have. Sure the Mini isn't as good as the Kadet/Niko without the seat belt buckle but it's still really easy to loosen/tighten. Highly recommended from me.

I use the Kadet oddly for fly fishing and its the perfect size. The U-lock slot is perfect for my net. Really great and versatile pack. I'll be picking up a mini for everyday stuff i wouldn't want in my pockets.

I’m a Chrome-aholic. I still have my first one from years ago, and it looks new. A lot of miles on that bag and never an issue. The last thing I want is a camera bag that looks like a ladies purse, may as well put a bullseye on my back.

Excellent review, the original Kadet has been my go-to for years. I like the idea of the mini being more condensed... but they killed the design by removing the iconic seatbelt buckle.
