Hi!
I greatly appreciate your hard work trying to help us enhance our English questions.
After coming across with the last example, I got a bit baffled.
Speaking of the third conditional, you said if I weren't/wasn't so shy in the if clause.
Wouldn't have been correct if you'd said " If I hadn't been so shy"?
I'll appreciate if you answer my question.

Hi Wes,
Thank you for such a riveting lesson! You were going live, and it looked as though you were teaching in a real classroom.

Could you please tell me why some Americans tend to use "was" instead of "were"? What impression does it make on native speakers? For example, some people tell us " if I was you" in place of "If I were you". Why so?

Great lesson. I haven't made a mistake on the test but I can just hope that I would be able to use conditionals in speaking the same way.

If I had arrived on time (to the bus station), I would have taken the bus .
That is another kind of interpretation

michelangelolarosa

''I would had arrived on time if I have taken the bus'' is incorrect, right? Because ''take the bus'' is the first event so past perfect should be used in this one, right?

Thanks for the lesson! I'm wondering if this answer is correct for the last example: "If I hadn't been so shy, I would have gone over and talked to her." And my second question is: Could we say this last example in the mixed condition?
