UPDATE: Shortly after posting this video, Myst's developer Cyan issued a patch that restored the original FMV performances. An option in the Settings lets you choose between the default CG performances or FMVs. We've updated the written review to reflect this (smart) change.

I got Myst for my 3DO back in 1994. I LOVED this game! I was only 12 at the time and couldn't get through it without a cheat book, but it was still so much fun. My sister would sit with me and read through the cheat book giving me instructions on what to do. It was an immersive game and the graphics were very impressive for the time. My sister is gone now, so revisiting Myst through these YouTube videos is extra special for me. I had no idea a revamped version of Myst was rereleased in 2021. Too cool. I hope a new generation finds joy in playing this. Those 3D-rendered people look terrible. They should have included the original FMV.

I remember getting this for the Nintendo DS and freaking LOVING it. It hink I still have it somewhere. Then I saw it on the quest 2 and was lilike. "Bruh"

They may as well made more games like this, but with updated multiplayer 1st/3rd.
Multiplayer's follow a path in a style staged game, but scenarios change by random timed events.
So no one knows how the game may lead or you want to get off the train/ski lift/subway...vote...and a few scenarios that could or not happen, like leading back, or be directed to one of a few different possible directions.
So without the open world, less designing than open world, where everyone gets lost unless looking at a map the whole time..:/
