Incredible so few views. This is one of the absolute high points of western culture. We should be broadcasting this to to the rest of the universe, this is what we’re capable of on a good day. There are no words to describe Miles’ interpretation and Gil’s deep understanding of this wicked, menacing piece. Easily one of the five great modern readings of contemporary music. You can learn most of what you need to know from this, and the Jaco Pastorius Big Band. I hear so much of this in Jaco’s masterpiece ‘Word of Mouth’.
