This guy, of all images, diagrams, and videos, finally put in plain terms what I'm struggling with and it's awesome. So well explained and helpful!

Thank you very much. I work in a factory and don't have insurance so it's a great tool to have the internet and your video.

Thank you for this video and explaining things more clearly! I started a new job about 6 months ago which involved a tremendous amount of walking, including up and down stairs, pretty much all day with out sitting down. For the last 5-6 years I had a desk job with minimal walking during the day. I’m 52 years old and I have nerve pain on my left side and take Neurontin. With all that being said shortly after starting there, approximately 3 weeks, I started having severe left heel pain which caused me to kind of limp and put more weight to the side of my left foot. I spoke with my PCP who increased my Neurontin. The pain continued to increase, started having shooting pains through my heel whether I was walking or with my foot up at rest. 3 months went by with me limping around until I finally made an appointment with an Orthopedic doctor. They did an X-Ray and Drew labs to check my Vitamin D level prior to see the doctor. He came in and of course did the squeeze test causing me to about vomit because it hurt so bad. He then told me I had a stress fracture all the way through my heel and put me in a walking boot. Also told me that I had plantar fasciitis which I had already suspected for about a year at this point. My Vitamin D level was at 30 and he started my on Vitamin D3, 4, 000IU daily. I was in the boot for about a week and the pain was still just as bad because it was up on it for 8-9 hours a day walking. I went back the following week to make sure I was wearing the boot correctly and that something else wasn’t wrong. Re-X-Rayed it and still the same so he put me in a cast and non-wt bearing plus off work. Every 2 weeks they remove the cast and replace it. After doing this for 8 weeks he retested my Vitamin D3 level and it was only 32 and started me on prescription Vit D3 after he said my X-Ray that day still “did not look good” and still a lot of pain with squeeze test. At my 10 week appointment it was the same thing minus rechecking my Vitamin D level. I’ve been this now for 11 weeks and I’m really concerned. Why isn’t my heel healing and my Vit D3 level still low?? My magnesium level was fine, I started drinking OJ and milk like there is no tomorrow. If this continues not to heel will he have to do surgery, if so what does that consist of?

Decided it was a good idea to jump from the top of a staircase and now I'm stuck dealing with this for the next several weeks. Thanks a lot for the very informative video. Hopefully this ends soon so I can get back to running lol <3

I literally just stomped on a cockroach heel first pretty hard and now I’m almost certain o have this. Is it possible to get a stress fracture from stomping too hard?

I was skateboarding barefoot and landed on my heel. Can’t put any weight on it but no pain if it’s elevated unless I squeeze my heel.

Podiatrist is booked out a month, I can’t imagine enduring this that long. THANK you so much for your help.

After watching several videos, including this. I actually think I have plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis and a fracture. Not even joking.

I broke my back two years ago, leading to months laying down and tighter tendons/muscles. Leading to another year of compensation in different parts of my body. Then finally, super low thyroid hormone levels this spring (TSH was 107) and calcium deficiency. So… time to heal!

Taking supplements, got thyroid under control, on a no-carb diet for three weeks now. A fracture explains why the pain was still getting worse and even throbbing while sitting/laying, preventing me from sleeping well some nights.

Thank you again

I’m surprised that many massage therapists and even on YouTube don’t know about calcaneus stress factors on the back of the foot. I literally have to shoe the RMT, where the pain is, otherwise it gets bypassed.

Sir, I have a big problem with the fracture that you told me about. I got many treatments in Pakistan, but the treatment could not be done by them.
I have the MRI report, if you want, I can send it to you in the comment section.
Please guide me with this

Broke both my heels a week ago due to a climbing accident. Fell about 6m and landed on both my feet severly fracturing my right.

Had surgery and metal implants for my right and then a walking boot, and a cast was put on my left. Estimated 6 weeks then the cast will be taken off and i can begin physiotherapy and some weight-bearing.

I'm hoping to return to high level activity (like running and jumping) by 6 months.

Very very painful injury but i'll get through this 💪🙏

Hello, thank you so much for the informative video. I suffered a side blow to the heel (banged bare foot hard) and have had heel/foot pain for 5 weeks now. Xrays taken about 10 days after injury and then again 5 weeks later, show no fractures (thankfully). 2nd one at 5 weeks shows what doc says white area that looks like plantar fasciitis... didn't have that before the injury... getting MRI to rule out stress fracture, until then in.a boot and/or crutches, doc says 2 weeks of non weight bearing until MRI is done and reviewed but Crutches are HARD, Is wearing the walking boot enough for these 2 weeks time to heal/calm this, even if it is a stress fracture? The boot is easier to move around house. Also, if not a stress fracture, can this be a calcaneus bone bruise since i banged it hard and how to treat heel bone bruises/how long can those take to heal? Can you get plantar Fasciitis from a heel injury? Should I periodically stretch the foot a little during this time to prevent pain as well as ice? Would heat be helpful? Do these heal successfully? I'm athletic, a million questions, but so frustrated. miss walking normally/without pain. Any info. you could provide would be much appreciated.

my advice is GET AN MRI SCAN if you think you have a fracture or break. i injured my foot real bad and couldn’t walk so i got an x ray. “you’re foot is fine” said the doctor. i continued on with life, with a sore very foot, so i finally got an MRI scan only to be told my heel is fractured. basically don’t trust an x-ray, or don’t trust your local doctor. they don’t do shit.

Why do you say go immediately to your doctor if your heel hurts and it's because you fell off a ladder? I fell from a high distance (maybe 5 feet) and landed on my shoulder but I think my foot or heel must have whipped down and hit the asphalt after my shoulder it. Now my heel really hurts. Nothing else hurts. I think it's a bruised heel and was hoping to avoid the doctor.
