SELENE Wind Tunnel Testing | Rocketry Project

The Rocketry Project has carried out Wind Tunnel testing, in order to obtain realistic measurements and validate the results of the CFD simulations.
The model subjected to the testing features a 3D-printed version of SELENE’s nosecone, a scaled down section of the airframe and one of SELENE’s fins. The purpose of the test was to obtain values for the Lift and Drag forces for 4 different angles of attack. Moreover during the test, a visualization method was utilized, so as to identify the behavior of the flow around the model.
It must be highlighted that the necessary CFD simulations will be conducted with the aim of replicating the conditions of the test. Then, the results will be compared so as to ensure the validity of the simulations.
