Today we are covering the training routine for the Green Arrow. We talk a lot about the training that Stephen Amell did for his Role on CWs Arrow. Let me know which character you'd like to see next!

As an archer, I can confirm that the only training for archery is archery. A minimum of 100 arrows a day training, plus competitions and rounds on the weekends. Two archery rounds at my club would mean about 150-200 arrows with warm ups and practice. Plus, the odd specialist training session of 200+ arrows. On my 40lbs competition bow, 1.5 to 2 tonnes a day is nothing unusual. Execises for those archery back and shoulder muscles are very targeted using weights and bands, but usually reserved for when you can't shoot. You don't use arm muscles at all in archery, but a few arm exercises don't go astray, because if you really fatigue out in your back and shoulders, you might start getting sloppy and use your arms. You want to shoot target, indoor and field archery, and maybe clout. At home, I train 18m on a 40cm face. At the club, I train 30m, 40m and 50m on either an 80cm or 122cm face. Indoor archery competitions are 18m on a 40cm face, or the rarer 25m on a 60cm face. Target can be anywhere from 20m to 50m on an 80cm face, or 30m to 70m on a 122cm face. Field is 5m, 10m and 15m on a 20cm face, 15m, 20m and 25m on a 40cm face, 30m 35m and 40m on a 60cm face, and 40m, 45m and 50m on a 80cm face. All this is in rugged bush terrain. This is all for Barebow Recurve with stringwalking.

The interesting thing is that Steven said that if Arrow ended, he really wanted to compete as a real World Class archer.

From other videos I saw, Stephen Amell did incorporate MMA and Kickboxing, as well as parkour, into his training. Doing martial arts on his active rest days. He also learned archery for the show as well. Dude is one dedicated actor, and a great one too to put himself in the mindset of the character for his training. A lot of actors aren't as willing to do that, and instead just settle for good physical shape rather than learning how the character might actually train.

I think the Question (Vic Sage or Renee Montoya) would make for an interesting analysis. Or even Lady Shiva and Richard Dragon

As a kid I always thought that this guy was Hawkeye, you know the arrows and everything... and then I realized that we got not one but two badass archers...
Great and interesting video!

Much more focus on the arms, shoulders, chest and back I would assume. Archery strains very specific muscle groups.
