Civil society actors have a significant role in pro-migrant legal mobilisation, which often aims to bring about changes that are part of wider strategies of collective action. What are the possibilities and limits of such legal strategies? How do socio-political processes shape their outcomes? Can (national, European, international) legal arrangements be effective tools for migrant struggles when they often also reproduce violent borders?
