The saddest part is that Evo shut down before PS4 Pro came out. It would have been awesome to see what those guys could achieve with a proper Pro patch and using temporal reconstruction. Not to mention what they could have achieved with Driveclub VR and a proper Pro patch.

honestly, Driveclub aged like Fine-Wine.
the finest wine there can be - it still looks better than most racing games
out on the current gen consoles and even some high-end PCs running these games.
Evolution Studios were done dirty with Sony tbh, they could've brought out more racing games at this point of time.

There's something about the way GT7's lighting effects look during night time and how the cars' surface materials react under said lighting effects just doesn't look right to me at all. It's like they made this fancy new ray traced lighting engine but forgot to make sure that all of the materials on the cars and the surrounding areas properly reacted to it in a realistic way at night.

Drive Club by comparison seems to be able to achieve this just fine with its global illumination lighting effects and material work on PS4.

I guess that's what happens when you make a cross gen game. You can't exactly go all out on the lighting and material work of your new game on newer hardware if the limitations of last gen hardware keeps anchoring you down. Hopefully GT8 is PS5 exclusive.

Graphically gt 7 ain't good unless people think 4k 60fps is what makes a game look good, which helps but it's a very bland looking game and floaty especially on the wet tracks, drive club looked amazing for the time and with the best weather ever in a racer .. now take drive club and make it full 4k 30fps screen and texture resolution, then compare to gt 7, this generation ain't good enough for next gen visuals at 4k 60fps

I am pretty divided about this but one thing that always drives me nuts is how dark the car interior is in GT. Even Sport had the same problem. At times i just refused to use the cockpit view in certain cars because it was just pitch black in broad daylight. I'd just switch to bumper cam.
