Why can't GM and Ford use the ZF transmissions? FCA or Stellantis has been mostly using ZF's 8 Speed Auto and it's been decent since most automakers uses it.

At least they are replacing them and not fighting it like Ford did with the dual-clutch fiasco.

Should have followed the Toyota business model and used a 3rd party transmission supplier such as Asin.

At least they’re acknowledging the problem and fixing it. I don’t consider recalls problems, since they brand itself has recognized the issue. As you said in one of your previous videos how bad fords were because they were refusing to acknowledge the rust issues with their trucks, now that’s definitely more of a problem.

My 2019 Silverado transmission slams and bangs into first and second after backing up. Your swear you get rear ended. Pure garbage.

The 1998 Cadillac mentioned in this video has a 4.6 V8, not a 4.0. The smaller displacement V8 was offered only in the Aurora. I have had five Auroras. Currently I have three, including a 2003 Final 500. No engine problems at all. Most of the Cadillac Northstars I have owned do develop the head gasket problem. The fix is with Northstar Performance, about $700 in parts. I do the repairs myself. I bought my latest 2002 Cadillac Eldorado ETC for $225 and it is next in line for the NP repair.

I’ve used Turo, know some people who rent their cars out that way. The insurance covers any damages, and vetting to rent it out can be pretty strict

I'm sure while they're replacing the transmission, they'll be sure to "accidentally" ruin something else...you'll be seeing them again soon enough

My buddy has a 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.7L, 3k miles, cylinder number 4 had a misfire. Down on power, took it to the stealership. The engines cam is bad and damaged all of cylinder number 4s parts.

The old Peugeot cars decades ago was actually halfway decent & held up somewhat compared to any Alfa Romero, some was even used as NYC taxicabs back in the early 80's 🚕

Having been in the dealership and auto repair shop owner for 40 years. EVERY make has total s---t at some time. I could go down the list but you all know the examples..my 2019 Chevy k2500 and 6.0 engine 6sp trans. Has been bulletproof. I have has it buried at lake Powell with my camper on I clawed it self out with serious abuse from the driver. No issues. I can run 75mph up I70 to the Eisenhower tunnel with my offroad 15 ft camper and 2 dirtbikes in the back, still get 14mpg towing. Great rig to own when you live in the Colorado high country.

I have a 2020 GMC Sierra 3500 HD... I love it! Minor issues so far, but seems I got really lucky buying that instead of the new ones since the DEF heaters keep going out in them. Recall after recall, TSB after TSB seems like.
