Listen, as a first born daughter in an African household who grew up only with her mother, this movie is so eye-opening. It is so important to see this from a woman’s perspective. My situation is similar; there is nobody that is good enough for my mom and she makes it known. The scene with the ring is sooo deep. And i would never want to make my future partner feel like they’re taking second or third place to anybody in our relationship or marriage. As much as it is difficult to accept, sometimes our relationships with our parents can be very unhealthy and codependent. This is such an interesting and eye-opening perspective. Kudos to the directors for thinking of such a fresh and unique perspective because it is not spoken about enough. Much love and respect to the husband for being so supportive and bringing more than just financial support to the table. This is exactly what we talk about when we discuss the shift in the marriage dynamics. Both parties showing up at 100%. This has inspired me to actually sit down and reevaluate a lot of my relationship dynamics in my own life. ❤❤❤❤

This movie has many lessons we can’t ignore and a major lesson here is how you build your marriage/relationship from scratch. Sometimes love is not enough because many things/forces could break two people so much inlove apart( the case of the mother in law for instance). That’s why other things like commitment, care and devotion to each other should be a paramount factor of the relationship. Morenike realised Laolu was very caring, committed and devoted to her wellbeing when they fell apart and it changed everything for her. When love is not enough; commitment, devotion and care will always remain the glue that holds the bond together.

Timini is one of the realest actors ever! He embodies his character and delivers his role with aplomb. Who else saw all those facial expressions when Mrs Lawson's bombshell was landing on him??? That is fantastic acting!!! Bimbo and crew, welldone for this beautiful flick. The lesson is profound and nicely delivered. It is not over until it's over; no condition is permanent and you can't put one man in jail for another man's sin.
