She inspires me. I haven't picked up even a sketch pad in ages but I'm facing health issues and her strength gives me hope. And I love the portrait!👍💝

Yes, she is a talented artist; she painted my niece’s portrait, which is also displayed in this video (The young lady in the orange background, with the hat and shorts on)

I followed Amy for a while before she was chosen and her work is amazing.

At first I didn't think much of Michelle Obama's portrait. However, after I looked at a higher resolution picture of it by itself I think it's fantastic! Good likeness, good style

There is something very human about her paintings, I think she manages to capture a humble and graceful sense of emotions from her subjects. I'm by no means an art expert and I am a white woman, yet I find something relatable about her art.

This is the result of when you choose people not based on their competence

No disrespect sincerely, this portrait doesn’t look like Mrs. Michelle Obama. However Mr. Obama’s portrait I can tell is him

Absolutely first-class work that requires deep thinking.

Yes, Amy Sherald is a talented artist; but if I saw this portrait alone or among portraits of various other black females, I would never have guessed this was supposed to be Michelle Robinson Obama. The portrait of Barack Hussein Obama II by artist Kehinde Wiley does look like him, but all the background greenery makes me think he's sitting in poison sumac, oak or ivy.

Both pictures are flat and lifeless. As for Michelle O's that is not a first lady portrait. That is a picture of someone that they think is doing a Vogue cover shoot. I have seen high school students do better in art class. They at least try to shade and put depth into their work.

Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Rembrant, Vermeer, Monet, Van Gogh, ....etc. are all turning over in their graves. The people who like this type of art, know nothing about art. I would take your photo, use Photoshop to make it cartoony and sell it for $10.

Michelle O bama is a strong muscular angry black woman with weight lifting arms and always with a scorn on her face . Who is that light grey woman with a wig and arms like an octupus? I don't know.

Didnt ask her about or show the paintings of angry black women beheading white women, why?

Wiley has also painted black women holding severed white heads, according to mcrtv.org.

It looks like a drawing from a zombie comic book. It's a cartoon character. She would do better at that. Is that dress supposed to be code for something? Confusing! SMH

Painting is just meh. Amy Sherald also showed lack of professionalism by how she's dressed. Why show your midriff in such a formal setting? Not appropriate.
