Have You Ever Seen a Pika Chew?!

Показать описание
This American Pika is preparing for winter by eating and stories grasses and other vegetation ☘️🌱 While we might be shivering during this polar vortex, pikas actually require cold climates to survive. At temperatures above 77°F (25°C) Pikas will start to overheat, seeking shade or higher elevations to avoid the burn. Since pikas need to stock grasses for the winter, they spend most of the day foraging for greens. For every 1°C increase in temperature, pikas have an average of 3 less minutes to forage for grass. That's why these cuties are usually found above in alpine environments above 6000 feet. This was recorded in August by the way, Mount Rainier is absolutely covered in snow right now ❄️
