Bending stress in beam for hollow circular section and eccentric load/ Strength of Materials
A hollow steel tube having external and internal diameter of 100 mm and 75mm respectively is simply supported over a span of 5m.The tube carries a concentrated load of W at a distance of 2m from the one support. What is the value of W.If maximum bending stress is not to exceed 100MPa.

What is the method of analysis/calculation of a circular hollow section inside another that are fixed to the ground? Would you treat the material as one and add the elastic moments together? OR analyse them separately since there's space between the two sections?

For example if there is a 1.1m in height circular hollow section (CHS) that is sized 42.40mm (diameter ) x 2.0mm (thickness ) with a 0.3m (CHS) inside that is sized 38.10mm (diameter) x 2.0mm (thickness ). There is a point load of 0.74kN acting on the top of 1.1m tube and it it assumed that at the bottom both CHS are fixed. How is the bending moment, stress for the posts calculated?

Thank you, any help is much appreciated.
