LIVE: Berlin crash: One dead & at least 10 people injured after car ploughs into shoppers

A CAR has driven into a crowd of shoppers in Berlin injuring at least 10 people, emergency services have confirmed.

German news publications claim one woman has been killed following the car smash in the centre of Berlin.

At least 10 people are also said to have been injured following the incident which took place at around 10.30am local time (9.30am BST).

The incident is reported to have taken place outside the historic Kaiser-Wilhelm Church close to the city's zoo.

Police and fire crews have been pictured at the scene, where a silver Renault can be seen sticking out of a department store building front.

Berlin's fire department says 60 emergency responders are either on site or en route to what they described as a "mass casualty event".

A 29 year old Armenian. One of Merkel's " imports". He ran with very high speed over the women a teacher, then turned around and drove high speed back into the group of children she was with on the very wide sidewalk. This was NOT an accident! He tried to run but was apprehended by people there.
This area in Berlin is very elegant and designed for pedestrians and shoppers. Traffic is usually of the kind which forces you to go slow because of all the intersections.
