Is FENDER PLAY Worth It??

In this video we take a look at Fender Play. The online guitar learning platform made by Fender! I've been seeing a lot of ads for Fender Play lately, and figured i'd look into what it is.

With an enormous number of online guitar learning resources available, it can be hard to figure out which one works best for you. Fender play offers multiple tools including song tutorials, and "my path", an online guitar course based on your learning preferences.

I was curious how fender play would compare to yousician and rocksmith... and it's not a game. A better comparison is justin guitar. Both courses are formatted similarly offering guitar lessons for absolute beginners to more advanced players. Fender play however doesn't get very advanced, and is focused more on beginner guitar techniques.. It's all in the video lol.

(I recommend justin guitar, but the fender play 14 day trial is potentially worth looking at)

As a total newbie... I got the free trial in October and there's no way 2 weeks was any where near enough. However, I was able to purchase a year for $40. There was a half-off discount after the trial. I'm still learning my strings!

As a beginner, it's been the best thing I have come across.

"The most a beginner will need it for is two weeks."

You seriously overestimate me.

It takes more than 14 days to get through all 5 levels. I’m a beginner so I like it. You can’t have a realistic look at this product because you’re already a good player.

Fender Play keeps it light, breezy and fun. Love the way lessons are organized and the way Fender Play provides a consistent and structured environment to learn guitar. It really makes it's easy to learn at your own pace and keep track of your achievements. They sometimes put their annual plan on deal for 50% off so a one year subscription can be had for as little as 45 bucks.

I went through the trial when I was pretty much an absolute beginner, a little under 2 years ago now, and I've gotta say, if you already know your open chords then you're already past needing anything Fender Play has to offer

I'm a total newbie who tried both. I love fender more because it teaches you one chord and then teaches one song that uses it. In addition, all the videos gets harder gradually. You can actually feel your own process. It is better to learn one chord in a song and use it in a song with the ones you learned before. So, you can learn a chord, compare it with other chords and improve your transicion and muscle memory.
I liked JustinGuitar and Marty Music but similar to other online guitar courses, I find myself holding the guitar and not playing it. Most teachers just talk about the guitar, the pick, reading the tab, ways to play better... They show either one chord or all the chords in one video without any sample music. I cannot learn all of the chords at the same time. And, I cannot learn one chord just by playing that only one chord without any music. The others gets repetitive a lot, which is too boring.

I played electric bass for years when I was younger. I took lessons from 2 good teachers and played in bands for years. After 20 years of not playing much, I decided to buy a Fender 6 string and tried Fender Play out. They offered 50% off for a year (about $45) so I signed up. Two months in, I am still enjoying it and learning.

I've been using it for 2.5 weeks and I haven't finished level 1/5 so IDK what you're talking about, not needing it for 2 weeks. I am almost done level 1, though, I need to practice more on my chord switching and muscle memory. I got a free 3 months w/ my guitar and I think I'll need it for at least the 3 months.

Ive come back to Guitar after 20 years at age 54 and didn't learn a lot first time around. Now with renewed enthusiasm i have subscribed to JamPlay and think its superb. Love the structure, just what i need and am loving tracking my progress. i have learnt way more in 2 months than i ever learn before.
100's of fantastic guitar teachers, many professional musicians and simply 1000's of videos to learn from covering practically every genre.
I hope to see myself in a years time in a place i never thought i would ever get to :-) Superb !
Ps i have no test this company just saw a couple of great reviews and went with it. LOVING IT !
