I don't buy his bs! He hurt Jey because he loves him? he sounds just like Roman. Jey took the abuse for 3 years to protect him, he chose him over Sami, he stood up to Roman & solo alone to avenge him and he wants us to believe that the chief position is gonna change him? he is supposed to be the one that knows him best, how come he didn't think Jey would use the power to be a good leader & unify the family? Jimmy explained what being the Tribal Chief did to Roman Reigns, how it corrupted him, and he wanted to save his brother from that. It was an interesting, unexpected explanation and one that was much more interesting and easy to digest than the tired jealousy story 👍.

As someone who thought the betrayal was a bit too soon and out of nowhere, they did it justice here. Thank goodness they didn’t go with the jealousy angle because I didn’t think that would’ve made much sense for Jimmy, who never betrayed his brother. Here’s to hoping they keep Jey sidelined until 2024 to make this promo worth it, but I’m glad they stuck the landing. In short, it’s basically the power of love or the love for power. Jimmy wanted to prevent Jey from being corrupted with power if he wins the title and the Tribal Chief acknowledgement. He feared that Jey will completely forget him as his brother.
