Following A BOB ROSS Tutorial On My BEDROOM WALL?!

Today I painted a GIANT Bob Ross painting mural on my bedroom wall! This was so much fun, although a big challenge. I love following Bob Ross tutorials, this was no exception! I did this with Artist Loft acrylic paint not oils so it's not as seamless as Bobs but I had to use my own techniques to get it to work. Hope you like it!

P.s. This came out absolutely incredible! For a self taught artist, your skill is incredible, and it is so apparent you have put in an insane amount of time and effort into your passion. Keep it up, we'll keep watching!

I just had an epiphany
When doing the white part on the mountains he sais "no pressure"
He doesn't mean no pressure on you like "relax theres no pressure on you"
He means that you have to apply literally 0 pressure on the pallete knife
You have to practically hover it over the canvas
Maybe thats obvious idk but to me this is a breakthrough in science and art forms alike 😂

Bob Ross taught me how to paint 😊 I started watching him when I was 19 (I’m about to turn 50) and I’ve watched every move, every little dapple, listened to everything he said. I use acrylics as well because they’re cheaper and less messy, so I had to figure out the faster drying time issue as well over the years. I started out painting things on the walls in my room when I lived at home when I couldn’t afford canvas or just ran out and had an inspiration. But I can safely say, the techniques work the same on canvas as on walls, better, actually. Now I have canvases all over my house. And I have a mural of cherry blossom branches in my upstairs bathroom. I’m far from done, but we’re not planning to stay in this house, so I think I’ll wait until we move before I do more murals 😊
