5:39 : "how they keep the grass so green", in these images those are vinyards.
Plus, this région has a tempered climate. Lot of rain, snow in winter helps

As a French National it’s nice to see your reaction on this video ☺️

As someone who visited Annecy I can tell you that the water is THAT sparkly and clean! Some villages around the lake actually use that water in their daily lives so it's a MUST to keep it clean :)

Hello American and French friends,
We can't reduce a country such as France to 10 places.
France has a privileged geographical position which allows it to have very different climates from North (rather cold) to South (rather hot) and from East (dry) to West (wet). Very diverse countries border the nation. What forged its history.
It's located just opposite the *United Kingdom* to the North and only separated from it by a small arm of the *English Channel.* It's bordered to the East by *Belgium* and *Germany, * to the southeast by *Switzerland* and *Italy, * and to the southwest by *Spain, * to name only the main ones.
*France, * therefore, shares some common points with these tremendous historical nations, both culturally, linguistically, and architecturally speaking.
This country has two high mountain massifs (The Pyrenees and the Alps), one medium mountain (the Massif Central, which goes in altitude from Burgundy to Occitania), three seas (the North Sea and the English Channel to the North, and the Mediterranean Sea to the South), an ocean (the Atlantic Ocean which borders the entire western facade), five world-renowned vineyards (the Bordeaux region to the West, that of *Burgundy in the center, Alsace to the East, Occitanie, and Provence to the South).
It's also a country comprised of different regions, each with its own history and culture spanning two thousand years.
This is why not only can the landscapes be very diversified from one place to another, but also very different architecturally speaking (color of houses, roofs, style of construction, materials used, etc.).
It's all in one country, the size of Texas. So therefore, to switch from one style to another, the distances are very short.
Have a pleasant week.
Peace, folks.

Honestly, the lake water at Annecy is SO clear and clean. Even at some quite deep sections you can see clearly to the bottom. The French Alps are absolutely beautiful.

About the vegetation it's because we live in a temperate climate where it rains a lot in most of the territory so the trees and the lawn have enough water to stay green. In the south of France it's different in summer

I remember having a family vacation in Nice, France for a week, 3 years ago and now I live there and never regret about it

Visited France twice in the early 80s. Loved both trips. Spent three days in Paris each time then ventured out to see smaller towns and villages. Visited Avignon and saw the Pont du Gard. Mont St-Michel is beautiful but so touristy, it's just one souvenir shop after another and so was a bit of a disappointment (to me). My favourite place was St-Cirq-Lapopie. Medieval stalls, renaissance homes, overlooking the Lot river, home to many artisans, it was just the most gorgeous place.

I live in Nice in the French Riviera. A great town to visit with lots of places around it. It's a one hour drive to the southern Alps, so you can visit Nice and take a swim in the mediterranean sea and then go hiking in the mountains in the same day. It's a beautiful region and definitely one of the greatest place on earth to visit.
Also, this region is famous for its Rallyes, with great mountain roads ready to be raced on.

I’m French and I love how I know all these places are great, but Seeing foreigners postive and enthusiastic reactions almost reminds me that these places are😊

By the way, when you asked about the Mont Saint Michel (what you called the “Little Island” 😊 - “who lives there” - I’m ashamed to admit that I was like :

“Wait, does anyone even live there ? 😲” cause I never thought about it 😂 I always heard people say they’ve been there, never hear anyone saying they live there 😌

I just googled it and that is basically what I thought : it really is just a place where a few Monks and Nuns live but it is not a city. More a medieval religious landmark 😉

For the « aiguille du midi » you have to take a cable car that brings you to almost 3800m above sea level or around 12450 ft
Price is around 70€/person for going up and down, it’s a little bit expensive but really worth it and this is not something you can really experience anywhere else, and if you’re brave enough you can go all the way back down on skies/snowboard, it isn’t that hard in itself but it is quite long to go down and you need some experience free riding and I would recommend getting a guide as there are some crevasses that could lead to injuries or worst if you fall in them.
Not trying to scare anyone but most of the incidents occurred when people aren’t prepared enough, same for the Mont-Blanc ascension.

We are spoilt and have a holiday home in Carcassone and it is worth the effort. It is very very lovely and the food is fantastic. The reason why we have green grass is because we use water butt's to use grey water, and in the North it rains a lot....not like Wales or Manchester but rain is key. At the moment we are in a drought and have had terrible heat but hopefully it is an aberration.
