After an extended stay in Hillsboro, the Safe Rest Pods, which opened last October, will move to Cornelius at the end of the month. The pods were only supposed to remain in Hillsboro until March, however, the city extended their stay through the end of June.

Jes Larson, the assistant director for the Washington County Department of Housing Services, says the pods are part of the county's temporary housing plan as it continues developing permanent shelter options for those living on the street.

The county says 40 people stay at the site on any given night. It serves 85 individual guests from 80 households. These individuals will either move with the pods to Cornelius or find alternative housing offered by the city.

Mandy Gawf, the community services coordinator for the City of Hillsboro said that once the pods move, they will undergo construction to be equipped with electricity ahead of the hotter summer months.

The cops and authorities in many rural counties allow you to use equipment to violate property lines and assault, abuse, torture someone in their own home, you can threaten, harass, exploit, abuse them, can cause them broken bones, hospitalize them adn take their home and property for yourself. Making them homeless or dead or unable to fight back. This is 100% allowed in Deschutes, wallowa, union, marrion, tillamook, pacific counties and its "not a crime" to do such things, as shown and stated by their police, crisis lines, authorities and abuse report lines. Youve been notified. Dont think any of them will help you if the same is done to your household and you call for help.

The person who broke into my car and stole my luggage is not my 'friend.' What a terrible thing to tell a victim of a crime. Lock them up like every other adult city in the world you children.

I hope every single liberal will band together to end the houseless problem. We can end it in one week if we organize and create an adoption program. We can bring these poor souls into our own homes and really show the ENTIRE world what we're all about. Who's with me?!

In what state is this happening? I only want to know so that I never, even accidentally, go there. These advocates are simply trying to generate a permanently dependent group of people so that they will always be needed. They are not helping anybody but themselves.
