Part of me likes to think that the Doctor doesn't actually know how to fly the TARDIS, and whenever he presses buttons and pulls levers, it's just the TARDIS letting him run around and she's actually just piloting herself XD

This was always one of my favourite scenes as a kid, and I frequently returned to it in my imagination. I mean... its the tardis in a car chase! I just love how erratically it moves, repeatedly smashing into the road, emphasising how though it may to do three galaxies to the gallon, using it on the highway is the equivalent of using a jumbo jet as a golf wagon. Brilliant stuff.

This is the scene I come back to every time I need reminding how Doctor Who used to be. The action, the performances, the effects, the score… I was 15 when this first aired on Christmas Day 2006, now I’m 30… this episode was half my lifetime ago.

Scenes like this are why I love modern Doctor Who. It's the kind of stuff that I imagined the Doctor doing when I was a kid, back when the show's budget was waaaay too low to do these kinds of things.

With RTD coming back, and rumors of the budget getting increased, I really want to see the TARDIS used more proactively in the plot like this again.
