This is a video trip report of a day hike of the Colorado Trail Segment #5 X2 from May, 2023.

The hike is 13.-14.2 Miles one way, and generally people set up a vehicle shuttle. I did not have that option, so I hiked to the end of the trail then turned around and returned to the beginning. I started at the end of Colorado Trail Segment 5 right around 6:00 AM and got back to my vehicle right after 5PM. (My hiking stats included filming times) 28.50 Miles, 3,744 Feet Elevation Gain, and 8:44:25 moving time.

The trail starts through a beautiful Aspen Forest off of Highway 285 at Kenosha Pass. I saw multiple Elk and Deer as the morning light found its way through the woods. From there it became intermittent meadows with sections of forest walking. The views looking the direction I was walking were fantastic in the morning glow. There were multiple water sources along the way and no too many people. I reached the start of Segment 5, turned around and headed back.

I drank 2 delicious beers on the trail, and one at the car upon completion.
