I have some understanding of what it feels like to be taken into the Lord Jesus. He's given me life of which I don't deserve. His grace and mercy 🙏

I have a question, if there was no plan of salvation why did they have to slay a lamb for a sin offering (Lev 17:11)?

But God has had His plan from the beginning when He promised the coming Seed. Job knew that His redeemer lives. Abraham believed in the resurrection. God's plan was alway in place and was revealed bit by bit over time until the plan of God was fully revealed in Jesus Christ.

It has always been by Faith.
Nuff said.

Wait what? Did I just hear him say there’s no plan of salvation, and then give me a plan of salvation?

Luke 10:25-28 ESV
[25] And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” [26] He said to him, “What is written in the Law? How do you read it?” [27] And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” [28] And he said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.”

John 14:18-21 ESV
[18] “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. [19] Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. [20] In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. [21] Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.”

Deuteronomy 30:15-20 ESV
[15] “See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil. [16] If you obey the commandments of the Lord your God that I command you today, by loving the Lord your God, by walking in his ways, and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his rules, then you shall live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to take possession of it. [17] But if your heart turns away, and you will not hear, but are drawn away to worship other gods and serve them, [18] I declare to you today, that you shall surely perish. You shall not live long in the land that you are going over the Jordan to enter and possess. [19] I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, [20] loving the Lord your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.”

Ezekiel 18:5-9 ESV
[5] “If a man is righteous and does what is just and right— [6] if he does not eat upon the mountains or lift up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, does not defile his neighbor’s wife or approach a woman in her time of menstrual impurity, [7] does not oppress anyone, but restores to the debtor his pledge, commits no robbery, gives his bread to the hungry and covers the naked with a garment, [8] does not lend at interest or take any profit, withholds his hand from injustice, executes true justice between man and man, [9] walks in my statutes, and keeps my rules by acting faithfully—he is righteous; he shall surely live, declares the Lord God.

Ezekiel 18:21-24 ESV
[21] “But if a wicked person turns away from all his sins that he has committed and keeps all my statutes and does what is just and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. [22] None of the transgressions that he has committed shall be remembered against him; for the righteousness that he has done he shall live. [23] Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord God, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live? [24] But when a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice and does the same abominations that the wicked person does, shall he live? None of the righteous deeds that he has done shall be remembered; for the treachery of which he is guilty and the sin he has committed, for them he shall die.

The Plan of Salvation is GRACE. Always has been and will be for the future.

Whether Adam, Abraham, David, Solomon, Isaiah, Jonah, John, Paul, Ringo, George, you or me. It's GRACE.

It's receiving what we don't deserve.

By there's no "plan, " I think he means it's not a checklist of right doctrines. It's not the Romans road.

By the way, this scripture definitely reminds me of Thomas saying to the Lord after the resurrection, "My Lord and My God." Christ says to be no longer unbelieving, but believing. This sounds like going from not knowing Jesus as his God, to knowing the Lord Jesus as God. Which is what is you ultimately need. I need to relate to Jesus as my God.

Excellent! But there is something in claiming you as God, which is Humility!
If I say you are my God, I say at the same time I am not God!
James 4:6 NIV
“God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble"

He's still describing a plan..logically

It is prophesied in the old testament at least 2, 000 years before the birth of Christ. That the Savior would be born and suffer for the sins of the world. So that we can receive the grace of God/salvation. Look it up!

Anyone else feel super wary of this guy? I love Heiser but find it unfortunate that this guy is taking over so much of his ministry, everything he says feels borderline heretical. Like what do you mean there was no plan? Maybe this is out of context? & his view on the atonement also concerns me a lot. I just wonder if Heiser really would agree with all this stuff because it really concerns me. Putting faith in the true God means nothing without the atoning sacrifice of Christ, which cleanses us from our sins & reconciles us to God so He may dwell among us.

🌟🌏🌟🌎🌟🌍🌟
Attention Good People

Perhaps this is what was meant:
Pre-Christ, there was no active
'Mechanism' (plan) for Salvation,
as we have now.

That would be accurate. In their belief, even the faithful went to Sheol and waited to be rescued/accepted into God's rest.
There was always an intended plan for Salvation through Christ, but that, of course, had to wait.

Sacrifice & works never assured Salvation. It was always by faith and the grace of God. However, the completion of the Full Plan of Salvation, where the Justice of God, both punitive & restorative, was still in the future.

🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

I could be wrong, but that's how I took it.

Jesus was the lamb slain from the foundation of the earth. the demons would not have crucified the Lord if they had known what would have happened to the base of their power. Your not seeing that as planned is astounding. Everybody = all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. God planned our salvation. He could have let all sinners die but "planned" to intervene. Repentance is key. Saying there is no plan denies the work God did on our behalf. God knew before he made the angels and watchers that there would be rebellion in heaven. God planned it so that the new heaven and new earth would not be subjected to another "fall in Eden." God has created a creature who would learn what the knowledge of good and evil is but by having exercised free will but would not choose to rebel. That was a plan.

"No plan of salvation?" In these verses, the writer is speaking to the Jews, not Gentiles. There are only two Gentiles spoken of in the old testament that enjoy, "salvation." In both cases belief in Yahweh & He alone was the prerequisite. As Michael Heiser once said, "believing in Yahweh alone, " is all that is required.

This is heresy.

As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and be satisfied; By His knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant, will JUSTIFY the many, As He will BEAR their INIQUITIES.

Isaiah

He says, “It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant To raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the protected ones of Israel; I will also make You a light of the nations So that My salvation may reach to the end of the earth.”

There is a plan it's just still getting fleshed out, as we see from its introduction in Genesis to it's expansion in the prophets like Isaiah. Progressive revelation.

Jesus lives! ♥️ and is God 🙏🏻 Christ ✝️ and King 👑
