Day traders taking profits. Simple. Nvidia may trade flat until pre-earnings week in February. Then I would expect profit takers to hack away at it again day after earnings. This has been the rinse and repeat trading pattern.

I totally disagree with you. Nvidia opened positive and hit new record high, but went down after due to macroeconomic news following nasdaq index. And because its highly volatile stock, going up and down by 5% is normal for nvda.
