Very straight forward and easy to follow. My freshwater tank was plagued with red algae-the kind that doesn't wipe off...or scrub off. Much appreciated!!!

Hey, I need help with this!, so I got a turtle about 6 months and as I do with all my pets I put the little guy in quarentine in this tank, 6 months later the turtle is still doing more than fine but I'm getting a pair of frogs, im going to use the same tank so I was wondering if I should disinfect the tank to quarentine them for a month 🤔
Thanks for the help but I'm not native and my English isn't that good

Will this work on Canister Filter tubes? Or will the bleach eat them away?

The presented goal here is to clean the parts of gunk, but you're using the 9:1 ratio which is used for sterilizing/disinfecting. If that's also your goal, you should know not all bleach disinfects. Just like alcohol has to be at least 60% to actually kill germs, bleach has to have a minimum concentration of chlorine to do the same. And that amount is 5.5%. You're correct that scented or splashless bleach won't work, but concentrated bleach is fine. If the bottle doesn't list the amount of sodium-hyperchloride it contains, then it generally doesn't have enough. Store brands often don't (Wal-Mart is an exception.) The bleach from the Dollar Tree, which you use here, absolutely doesn't. It'll still work to burn off organic residue (as well as bleaching materials) so it's useful for getting rid of biofilm off equipment but it will not sterilize/disinfect it. So if you're not trying to do that, then you can use less bleach (and save money) by using a lower ratio like 20:1 or 30:1 and increase soak time to overnight. It'll do the same job and it'll be easier on the equipment. If you DO want to additionally sterilize/disinfect then you'll need to look at the active ingredients and make sure it contains at least 5.5% chloride.

I know it’s a old video but I have a question my Oscar fishes tank keep going green no matter how good I clean it I’ve tried bleach but not as much and it works for a week or so but then it starts to turn again. The only thing I don’t put in the bleach is the heater and his air stone thing . Could it be those things? And can I safely put them in bleach without it hurting the fish or the heater and stone? Thanks in advance
