This may have come up in the video but I didn't catch it but how do you actually measure the parallax angle and give it a number (however many arc seconds) without knowing how many parsecs the star is away from you? Only because if you knew how many parsecs the star was away from you wouldn't you already know the distance? Sorry if this is a really stupid question.
