Thanks very much for open up your world to us, Laerke. Love your work, hear about family traditions and have a pick of your part of the world, especially the woods, and the strolls in town. Keep guarding your privacy and people should respect it. All the joys of Christmas for you and yours.

Maintain your privacy. Very important. Do what you are comfortable with! Enjoy your new little child and 1st born as well. Take time for yourself and come back to us when you are able. (or when you need a break!)

Thank you for the time you put into these Volgmas with so many other things going on in your life. It is interesting to hear about Danish Christmas traditions. Take good care...

My first baby was as difficult as yours — so When I became pregnant again I was really prepared for another fussy baby — but to my surprise baby 2 was amazing - quiet and nice .. good sleeper and he never whined or cried for no reason. Im sure your second time will be much easier I wish you all the best - love all the way from Kuwait

Oh I think you're second child will be totally different. You've done your apprentice of 'doing it hard' first time around hehehehehe, so I have only good hopes for the baby to come. Thanks so much for doing t he podcasts. The hardest thing is having two. it was so easy with one so it's good not to plan a thing, or at least PLAN something and not care if it changes. That's how I did it and it worked much better. merry Christmas and here's to lots of new designs and knitting. Love Lu xxx

I love that Rotur sweater, its really unique and cozy looking.... some day I will get that one knit and I am glad you made a few more sizes in the pattern because sometimes these yoke type sweaters dont look good on me because I am more 'busty"....Im not suprised to hear your new shawl was on the top 20 pages, its really a beautiful shawl Laerke!! Im sure all of us are glad for you to focus on baby and family and when you are ready you will podcast!

Wow, very nice inlaws! I love "cabanosi" and we call them the same in Romania :)) It's hard to find them in USA stores, but luckily there are Czech and Polish families who own small businesses and still prepare them in a traditional way. Enjoy your gifts!

Take your time with the new baby but I hope he is easier. I still love that first jersey of yours, it looks deceptively easy but I am sure it is not! We are still in the middle of an exceptionally hot summer, so not even thinking about knitting now, although I have a pair of pale green bamboo yarn, lacy, fingerless gloves I need to finish for my daughter. I knitted a pair in natural cotton and they are so lovely and very unusual, although the internet pattern was wrong and I unpicked the first glove 3 times until I figured out the mistake and adjusted the pattern. I e-mailed them about the mistake and they quickly corrected it

Thanks for answering my question. If you ever find your way back, let me know. We can knit and have some coffee and look at yarn stores :)

We do the caramelised potatoes also, and right now I am making risengrød for dinner :)
We serve it with milk and cinnamon sugar, but I am going to try it with butter after I saw both you and Skeindeer talk about it.

Thank you for this lovely vlogmas episode. Thanx for talking about the struggles you experienced with your first child. I can sooo relate. And listening to your journey as a designer was so wonderful and enlightening. Thank you. All the best to you.

My favorite thing is brunsviger! I eat all year, but specially around Christmas. On another note, your tutorial on tassel was really good, the the pace and the explanation. Can I request another tutorial? Perhaps this one is too much, but I can’t get my head around short rows for back of the neck! How do I add them to a sweater that does not have them on the pattern? I love knitting Icelandic sweaters, but I think some short rows would make them sit around the neck so much better. I guess they can be added after the colour work, but I can’t for the life of me figure it out?

I understand your reservations about showing your home...I don’t think I would like the idea of 6.5 thousand people seeing around my home either! Your own workspace is a different matter....you may not mind that. Is the boiled rice the same as rice pudding that we have in UK? It sounds the same.

Your traditions sound lovely. Would you be willing to share your family recipe for risengrød ?
