REKAP ⚾️ Cubs 9-5 Loss to the Rockies - With the season on the line, you go to Smyly?

Another bad loss for the Cubs as they lose to the horrible Rockies. Kap has some major questions after this game. With the season on the line, would you put the game in the hands of Drew Smiley? A guy you tried to get rid of just a few weeks ago? Kap knows Craig Counsel has a great rep as a manager, but he seems to make some really questionable calls sometimes.

The Cubs took an early 2-0 lead. But Hunter Good man had a massive game for the Rockies. He had 3 hits and 7 RBIs for the Rockies.

The Rockies were up 5-2 going into the 8th inning. The Cubs got two runners on and then Michael Busch hit a 3-run home run to tie the game. Kap was going nuts. But after tying it, the Cubs went to Smyly, who was then awful. He allowed 3 runs and the game was pretty much over at the point.

The seasons not hanging on a thread. It’s over. Down 5 games with 16 to go and needing to jump two teams. One team. Ok. But not two. Almost impossible. They know it. Tonight was not a bad loss. Just a loss and playing out the season. Go Bears.

Again, all myself and the whole fanbase has craved for the past 6 years is playoffs baseball at Wrigley. And once again after declaring we’re not in a rebuild 3 years ago Jed has kept us on the outside looking in on the playoffs for 5 years straight. Just becoming a massive waste of time watching this team hoping they’ll do anything

Even worse than Smyly, three dimensional chess specialist, Counsell, goes with Pearson in the 8th, the star Buffalo Bison’s trade the front office made with Toronto to shore up the pen, and BOOM, game over. Assad, who wasn’t charged with the loss, but also contributed mightily to it, cannot be left off the blame list. Oh, BTW, Morel, another contributor to this dismal season is now back in the outfield playing LF down in Tampa for some inexplicable reason since he has no arm, and he’s still batting .197. Cubs sure know how to pick them.

Counsell is fucking up everything, we all thought he would make big moves and get some trades, what a disappointment of a season, the bullpen is still the same, Counsell is so overrated and needs to be fired along with Jed. I love the offense, sure they’ll have bad games but it seems the bullpen has a bad game every other fucking game. The Cubs NEED to fix this bullpen for next year, if Belli opts out next year, this team is gonna be more fucked going into next season.

Counsell will never learn how to manage a bullpen. It's unbelievable some of the decisions he makes. He shouldn't have brought in Robert's either. This guy .makes to much money to do the kind of garbage managing he does

The problem is Craig Councell has never really had to make tough decisions because Milwaukee always had an excellent farm system with MLB talent coming up continuously. He is now being tested on how good he really can coach and it's showing that he's making some of the same mistakes he made in Milwaukee. So even if Chicago gets good talent Councell will fail them as a coach. The Brewers now have an excellent coach and Pat Murphy who always has the answers when they lose a game and you watch the next night if he doesn't change things! Councell can't even make eye contact with the reporters after he loses. My Cubs deserved better!

To think the Astros started their season 7-19 after they played a 16-9 Cubs team, and the Astros just sparked and won so many games, Neris left to head back to HOU and I bet he doesn’t mind one bit.

Counsell has to have mailed it in for the season because Smyly is probably the absolute worst pitcher in the league to put in Coors Field. It's the Silly Season, as some call it
