tbh i think martha meeks should be the opening kill cuz she hasn’t been attacked by ghostface yet so have her get attacked so that chad & mindy will be heavily involved in the final act

i also think that mark kincaid wont die just yet since he will be a returning character he’ll basically be like the “kirby” like how she was introduced in scream 6 and just imagine there dialogues between them like an FBI agent and a detective going off like this would EAT! 🤩

I think Gale's death should be the opening scene, not a random. It would make Sidney wanting revenge.

Mark should definitely be the opening kill in Christmas time I think it’s time to say goodbye to mark

Just like cotton was the only person to be a returning character opening kill I think Tara will also do that and be in the only character that been in 2 opening scenes

I think Neil Prescott (Sidney's Dad) could be a opening kill and would be a good reason for Sidney to return to her hometown for his funeral .

I think Martha Meeks will also get Sidney involved as she has connections with her. Another possibility that might be cool and hasn’t been done is have two obvious ghost faces in the opening kill, and they take out the twins. By this point in the franchise, it’s well known that there are usually two killers so no need to only show one ghost face in the opening sequence

i actually would like to see it be tara, the movie producers let us give tara the title of an opening scene that didnt end in death, for her to be the opening death in 7 would show old scream fashion dies hard

I'd love a flashback opening kill, like in Halloween Kills that went back to 1978 from another point of view. Let's go back to 1996 and see that opening Casey kill from Billy & Stu's point of view. Show their plan being put in motion & from outside the house. Introduce some new details that might be important for the rest of the film. Or show Maureen Prescott's murder

If Tara is in the opening of Scream 7 then technically that would be three straight openings for her. Tara was in the opening of Screams 5 & 6.

I’m afraid it might be Kirby. It would mirror Cotton in that they were both legacy characters and red herrings in 2/6.

Mindy and Tara, I think may die, but probably not until the end of the movie. I heard Wes Craven regretted killing off Randy so early because he had more ideas for him. That could make Mindy safe for a little while, as they recognize she has a lot of potential.

Chad, as the new Dewey, I expect to survive and not get killed until Scream 9 or 10.

Going on a small tangent from opening kills, I think Tara is too important to kill off right away. The way 6 ended, it seems they’re setting her up as Ghostface, with her seeming to enjoy killing. It would also mirror 3 where the half-sibling is the sole killer, but instead of being retconned, she was actually there from the beginning. However, I think she is going to be a huge red herring throughout the movie, with Mindy accusing her the whole time… until Stu shows up and kills Tara and possibly Mindy too.

It could be martha meeks as I don't think they'd want any of the core 4 to die unless this is the last film
