I think it’s really important to listen to Taylor’s music as a girl dad. She has lots of songs about different things obviously, but she writes so eloquently about the female experience and what it is to be a woman in a world that isn’t always the kindest to us. Listen to her songs through that lens and really take them in, and I truly believe your daughters will thank you for it as they grow up.

“I can’t believe I’m crying to a Taylor Swift song!” Who’s going to tell him? You will cry to most of her songs if you get past the radio hits 😅

As a fellow Girl Dad and now a Girl Grandfather, I've loved this song since 2010. It was the hardest thing in my life to let go of her, but we have the best relationship, she calls me every time she gets in her car to go somewhere, I get to go babysit my granddaughter every Tuesday. Daughters, man, they're the best!

The fact that this is 100% self written and Taylor was only 18 or 19 years old when she wrote it just proves she’s has always been an amazing songwriter. She writes all her music but Speak Now album is 100% self written, her entire discography in my opinion is such a beautiful representation of her life but at the same time so relatable, and resonates with people. She’s an amazing, talented, singer, songwriter. storyteller, director, down to earth, beautiful human being ❤

she has another song called "the best day" thats about her mom and as a parent, i think you'd find that one really relatable / emotional as well!

I'm glad that you're listening to Taylor Swift with an open mind. She is a very talented songwriter and story teller. She has a lot of amazing songs. There's a reason she's selling out stadiums all over the world.

This was a tear jerker! So good! And she’s re-recording all of her earlier albums, calling them Taylor’s version since she wasn’t given the opportunity to own her own material. Well, she owns it now!Total boss move!

This song came out when my daughter was 4 and I used to sing it to her every night... now she's 17 and getting ready for her Senior year and she understands the 2nd half better.

Please don’t let any negative comments stop you from crying, sharing Jesus, and just being who God has created you to be! This Georgia grandma loves you and your precious family and keep you in my prayers!💕💕

I wouldn't call myself a Swiftie but I like her a lot and know she's crazy talented. I'd never heard this song but as a mother of two, I bawled. 😢 As an author, it's her lyrics that always get me. Sometimes it's like being punched in the gut. 😂

i have never not cried to this song, but i’m 17 years old now and listening to it hits so much harder. it’s my last year as a kid and i just remember being the 14 year girl hating my life and wanting to grow up so bad. how i wish i could yell at younger self to appreciate it more and show more love to my parents

As a mother, I cry every single time I hear this song. I used to sing it to my little ones (now 7 and 5) every night before bed. I saw Taylor in Kansas City a few weeks ago for the Eras Tour and this was one of my surprise songs. I held my daughter tight and sobbed the entire time. No shame for crying to Taylor. Won’t be the last time, probably.

Contrary to popular belief, dude it is very normal to cry to Taylor swift songs. Shes written so many of the saddest songs ik, some I cant listen to at all just bc of how much they hit me.

She writes so much more than just break up songs, infact there are many songs like these that hit so hard. Ronan is one of the songs I cant bring myself to listen to anymore, neither can I listen to Soon you'll get better.

Some songs I do recommend tho are:
-Best day
-Seven
-Innocent
-Forever Winter
-Last kiss
-Safe and Sound
-You're On You're Own Kid

Some of my favourites at the moment and ig guess based on this video these may be some you'd like.

But if you want to go really country in terms of Taylor Swift:
-Mean
-No body, no crime
-I Bet You Think About Me
-Pretty much anything from Fearless and her debut album is just pure country.

I straight ugly cried to this 4 times the other day when hearing it again years later b/c now that I have children and feel at this time am at a crossroads about how I feel being adult missing my younger self and the innocence you have.

She is the sole writer on this whole album. She wrote this when she was only 18-20.

The first few verses of this song were apparently inspired by Taylor's goddaughter. I think she was 18 or 19 then and these were all the feelings that came up. It comes full circle of her experiences after she grows up (although shes still probably a teenager at the time).

This song is a tear jerker, and if you're a parent its probably gonna hit you even more cuz you may feel this way about your kids too...

She is a word wizard. Her newer songs reference back to her old things. So much thought and planning into everything she does.

i cant imagine if you listen to "ronan" from red (taylor's version) album. ronan is a beautiful song about a mother who lost her son. it’s a real story.
