Palpatine is a Bastard to Dooku before he Fights Anakin

Palpatine tells Dooku to fake his fight with Anakin Skywalker, and that if Anakin somehow wins, he'll save his apprentice from death...which of course in Revenge of the Sith, he didn't.
Palpatine is surely a jerk to Dooku! Would you expect anything less?

I feel like Dooku saw being a sith as a means to an end, so once the empire was formed he would’ve taken a more prominent position in that thus effectively there were still two sith-Vader and Sidious. I also wonder if palpatine was a little pissed that dooku didn’t kill Obi Wan. Unless they thought he did actually die only to say he didn’t when Anakin checked him after the duel
