I work at an rescue center. I always tell the animals that come in, that they won't be here very long, they just have to wait a little whi!e, and a lovely family will come and fall in love with them, and take them home. By the time they leave us, they have been loved, cuddled, and adored. These pictures warm my heart xxx

I went to visit a rescue kitty today and she's coming to live with me next week!! 💕💕

Edit: thanks for all the kind words! She arrived yesterday and is still hiding (former stray, very shy) but I've been spending time with her reading aloud and just sitting in the room so she gets used to me. I love her very much already.

I used to live in a little back road, on a plot of land about 6 acres large. People would just drop off pets they didn't want there and those animals would find their way to our house. We always got them spayed and neutered and have the vet look them over. At any given point in time we'd have 20-30 cats, 10-15 dogs and a random array of birds. Sometimes people would stop by the house and ask to adopt one or two. Kind of miss it, being it there with them.

It’s weird to to me that it’s been 12 years since I walked into a shelter and met the dog that changed my life. She is 13 in less than two weeks and I love her every day. Big brown eyes and the coat of a chow chow, but intelligence of a Shepherd. Love her so much. She fought a coyote for me, saved me from mental health breakdowns, and makes each day bright.

To all the people around that have and will adopt or rescue an animal to give them the life they deserve, thank you. You made that critters life and the world a better place and that is priceless.

I love everyone who adopts an animal. All of mine have given my family and I such joy. There is no other experience quite like being a loving animal owner in the world. Every expense is worth it.

My son lost his beloved cat a year ago, and is now in the process of adopting a beautiful cat to come and live with him, his boyfriend, and two rescue dogs (she's a Bengal and I know that she will be ruling that roost in no time) =DDD

I was adopted a couple of months ago by a mystery kitty, and it's not the first time!
I live way out in the boonies, so far from civilization I have off-grid solar for electric power because I couldn't afford the $300, 000 that Edison would charge to bring power here. My closest neighbor is a mile away, but they don't like cats so he didn't come from there. There's a colony of feral cats 6 miles away, almost all are solid black or black and white tuxedo.
3 years ago, a little black feral cat showed up here out of the blue. It was 2 months after my son's beloved black cat died, after he had him 17 years. Both kitties seemed like an answer to prayer! My son has schizophrenia, and his cat was his best friend since childhood. I was afraid he was going to need to go to the mental hospital again, but when this little angel showed up, injured, he had a new goal, help her! She's still skittish around others, but she adores him and is wherever he is, all the time.
Two months ago, another showed up! This one is tuxedo, and is the spitting image of my favorite cat ever that I adopted 38 years ago! I've posted pics of both to FB, and NO ONE could tell them apart! He has bonded with me, and is wherever I am, all the time! Currently on my lap. He's precious; such a sweet, gentle, darling boy who was feral when he 1st got here.
It's almost like the Universe saw how sad we were to lose our best friends, so we were sent new versions of our beloved kitties!

A dog spent a decade in a shelter. I am very happy he finally found love after so many people passed on him. If your thinking of getting a dog please try shelters to save animals like him from the same fate and give them love.

Well...here my adoption story...my dog died and after 2 years i went to a shelter to find a new dog...got out with 2 dogs that would otherwise would je put down because age and medical problems... they were a paralized golden Retriever(11 years old) and an aggresive toothless german shepard with 3 Lymphomas (15 years old)...I had the golden Retriever for 3 years(needed to build my own understanding of a dogs "wheelchair" with much trial and error) and the german shepard for another 1 after his cancer Operation and getting dentures...well...turned out the german shepard was a real sweetheart that was aggressive because cancer...I hope they also think that they had a good Time with me...

I needed this ! I just adopted a 6 lb dog from a kill shelter and he is almost feral. But, we are working on it and I will Not give up. BTW: the Beagle with the new doxie roommate, watch out that weiner will take over, that's their personality. But so wonderful !

My cat passed away a few months ago, and I still feel sad. This video actually made me feel better 💕
