Transfering pictures, videos and files from your google pixel phone to your computer should be simple and quick. Can’t find the pixel files when plugging it into your computer? Any android phone uses a USB cable and once plugged in shows files on a PC. But with the google pixel phones you have to change a few settings to get your computer to see the photos and videos stored on your phone. Once you change these settings, it allows you to easily and quickly copy the photos from your Google Pixel, Google Pixel 2, Google Pixel 3, Google Pixel 4, Google Pixel 5, Google Pixel 6 or any of the Google Pixel XL models onto a different destination storage drive such as a PC, flash drive, jump drive, SD card, or external hard drive. Great video! But the problem I'm having, apparently others have as well, is that when I tap on "this device" under USB Preferences, it says "Couldn't switch". None of the solutions online seem to work for me. My Google Pixel is a 4a.

So I’m trying to free up my google photos space by deleting/transferring them to external drive. But that also delete the pictures from my google photos albums. How to retain the pictures in the albums and only delete the rest?

Thank you for the video. For some reason my Google 6 doesn't allow me to transfer to my thumb drive. Can figure out what I"m doing wrong. I can see the files if I click on settings and the drop down under storage but I can't actually transfer. Any advice?

You can also transfer files without a cable to a PC or NAS drive through your wifi network but you have to install additional app eg Solid Explorer (tested on Pixel 6 pro windows 10 )
