++++ I Have Been Playing The 2 Player Rules Incorrectly. ++++
I want to thank Mr. Boelinger for contacting me and letting me know.
The 2 player rules in the Variant Section of the rule book are not an alternate way to play the 2 player game, it IS the way to play the 2 player game.
Unfortunately I was ruined by Dominant Species which also puts the 2 player rules in the variant section as alternate rules, which made me assume this was the case here.
Again in Archipelago the 2 player rules in the back of the book is how you play the game with only 2 players and yes they do make a difference! ++++

I can't believe how many times I've heard/read people suggest that if some player prefers the tie of everybody lose by rebellion over losing by themselves to a winner then there need to be adjustments to the playing group. !?!?!
It's a perfectly reasonable decision in a competitive game.

If a game needs that sort of curation of the player group to be played, it sounds more like a problem with the game to me.

Found this review insanely interesting. When I first stumbled across the game I wondered how it was played but I couldn't fish out enough information on the web. Glad I wanted to find more about it, this review helped me get to grips with the game and understand loads of aspects. Seems like the kind of game I would enjoy to play as I quite enjoy complex game mechanics, as games that are too simple can bore me from time to time. I actually make and design my own board games (not marketing them of course) on my desktop, and I've made loads over the years. Complex gameplay seems to get the most attention from my group of friends so something like this I can imagine to be very entertaining. Perhaps I'll use it as inspiration for future projects.
