Most Hospitals Do NOT Know What Their Own Costs Are For Surgery, MRIs or Emergency Room Visits.

The University of Utah Healthcare System Changed That and Implemented a Cost Accounting System So They Could Measure What Each Hospital Service Cost.

They Found that the ER Cost $0.82 Per Patient Per Minute and Orthopedic Surgery Cost $12 per patient Per Minute.

By Better Measuring Their Costs, The University of Utah Hospital Was Able to Lower Their Overall Costs by Costs by 0.5% While Their Peers Increased Costs by 2.9%... a 3.4 Percentage Point Improvement.

This Achievement Was Such a Success that One of the Most Famous Business School Professors in the World--Michael Porter from Harvard Business School--Flew to Utah to See It for Himself.

Cost Accounting is a Basic Business Practice That Amazingly Most Hospitals Have Never Adopted.

Great videos. I am a health insurance broker just looking to increase my knowledge. For the two hospital systems you highlighted, how do they provide nationwide support for beneficiaries that it outside of the area. Sounds like more of an HMO type setup where the hospital is the both the provider and insurance carrier.

It may be of interest to you, Amsterdam Slotervaart, Ikazia Rotterdam banc so appalled with hospital deleted new money And ditches current loan, lawyer wise brave. Netherlands have plenty of money to to insurers. Thre the problem is totally hospitals. We hear following stuff. 1 an uncontrollable urge to add to feminism and hire nurses. Now ict companies like nerds, but if they need a planner they not hire a programmer. 2 fixed costs are not t b influenced. Turnover is variable (more patients cant be ..arranged for). Dont be a centralized super big hospital, also an ongoing thing. Planning . City full of polish and russia men, work in factory? You may expect fewer children. Healthy dudes?, you gonna scale down. If you never ever in touch with government and these tendencies, government can get idea to own hospital themselves again or not? Sloppy nature of female worker Netherlands is a management issue. When we had nuns, it wasn t so? Analyse! Organisational issues, women can be disciplined too, just know how. This being sad, generic rule is: do not be a Netherlands hospital..as-in evil empire, its social suïcide and bad quality too
