I'm very much against people who snitch on criminals just for money. It can result in innocent people having their reputations and livelihoods ruined even though there is no substance to the claims, often made by people with an unconnected grudge.
If you know of someone who is breaking a law and think it is serious enough you should not expect any financial reward if you snitch on them. You are merely carrying out your duty to your society for the good of that society.
