📚 Description: Neon Genesis Evangelion is an anime that was released in the mid-90s. While I had never heard of this show prior to the release of this guitar, it appears to have a very strong fan-base around the world so when Fender released this Asuka Inspired, Limited Edition, Japan Exclusive Telecaster the orders flooded in to me from sad USA-based buyers hoping that I could help assist them with getting one into the United States. Only 30 of these guitars were exported officially from Japan, the rest are for sale only by Japanese dealers. Today, we will unboxing, take a deep look at, and review the 2020 Fender Neon Genesis Evangelion Asuka Telecaster MIJ exclusive.

There is also a rather embarrassing typo on at least the first run of these guitars. Serial Number is misspelled "Serial Nunber." It's not like Fender Japan doesn't make guitars that often so it is a rather unfortunate, but funny, over-sight on QCs part. Hopefully, they fix that for the 2nd run!

I think the 'nunber' was deliberate. They made that error a long time ago early in Fender Japan, and those typo are now sought as rare and special. This may be an homage to that long ago legitimate 'english as not your language' error.

Oh, and "Serial Nunber" is an honest mistake. In Japanese, number is spelled like this: ナンバー so it's like 'nanba.' Plus, an innocent mistake adds to the value lol.
